Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, means that there has never been a more exciting time for sport and coaching in the UK. The recruitment and support of current and subsequent coaches at all levels is crucial if we are to create a sporting legacy that goes beyond the 2012 Games.
Nationally work is being undertaken by all key organisations involved in sport to develop a 'World Class Coaching Sytem', where skilled, active and qualified coaches can be supported and developed to support and guide the improvement of children, players and athletes at all stages of their development

Work on the coaching agenda in the North West is very strong. The Five County Sports Partnerships are working closely together with National Governing Bodies of Sport and other key partners, such as Skills Active and the National Skills Academy to ensure a strong, joined up approach is taken, developing systems and accessing funding to benefit coaches in the North West.
