Greater Manchester County Sports Partnership (GreaterSport) is one of four County Sports Partnership using a data management system in the North West.

The Greater Manchester County sports partnership aims to develop Coaching Greater Manchester into a 'one stop shop' information and management tool for coaches and employers of coaches in the North West.

This information and management tool will help us build a picture of existing coaching being undertaken, and the existing and future needs of coaches and coach employers in the North West (and Greater Manchester).

Development Coach

Salary:   Scale 0.6, £10,250 - 3 days a Week

12 Month Contract reviewed annually

England Squash & Racketball are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join our coaching team as Development Coaches. Located within a county, you will play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of Squash and Racketball players

About the Job

  • To deliver high quality coaching, practice and competition programmes to young people and adults of all ages
  • To identify and develop players from grass roots to Under 11 Area Academy level in line with the England Squash & Racketball National Coaching Scheme
  • To forge positive working relationships with key partners to ensure the successful delivery and development of Squash and Racketball programmes and structures
  • To raise the profile of Squash and Racketball, encouraging more people to be involved in playing, teaching, leading, coaching and refereeing
  • To take a professional approach in the preparation and delivery of coaching sessions
  • To tutor and assess coach education to England Squash UKCC Level 1
  • To support, mentor and develop coaches, teachers, leaders, volunteers and players
  • To support Cumbria 1 day per month to deliver a Squash & Racketball development programme

About You

  • Will have a demonstrated proven track record of coaching young people and adults from grass roots to Area Academy level          
  • Qualified to a minimum of England Squash Level 2 Coach or equivalent
  • The holder of an England Squash & Racketball Coach Licence
  • Will be England Squash & Racketball CRB checked
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the England Squash & Racketball National Coaching Scheme and LTAD
  • Possess an understanding of progressing players from Community / School / Club level through to County and Area Academy level
  • Be able to develop effective working relationships with Club, County and Area Coaches and personell
  • Must be a confident, effective communicator and have the ability and energy to motivate yourself and others, as well as working effectively as a team member
  • Prepared to attend and practically contribute to in service training days
  • Current driving license and own transport
  • Be computer literate
